ღModels with tattoosღ

It’s considered that models can’t have tattoos, because tattoos are “job-blockers”, especially in an industry of fashion.

There once was a time that models would never think of marking their bodies with tattoos and body art. They were afraid it would reflect “badly” on their character or the product they were being hired to promote or sell.

Nowadays we have supermodels with tattoos like Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima, Petra Nemcova, Carolyn Murphy etc.

Ankle Tattoos

Some of the most subtle yet most beautiful tattoos are ankle tattoos. The ankle itself is an often forgotten part of the body, but with a tattoo, a lot of attention can be drawn to the area, and especially for women, ankles can be transformed into truly beautiful places.

You may have noticed that ankle tattoos are becoming very popular among women. Ankle is a great location for tattoo  since tattoos there are small, discreet and easy to tuck away and hide when necessary. They are also very low maintenance since the sunlight does not hit these area as much as other parts of the body and they are often inexpensive tattoos to get done.

A lot of celebrities have ankle tattoos, among them: Drew Barrymore, Alyssa Milano, Charlize Theron, Cassie, Penelope Cruz, Adriana Lima, Nicole Richie etc.

Necks appeal

A little ink-pretty or political-draws the eye to these great napes:

I think that neck tattoos have become so popular nowadays, especially among women, who can easily cover it with their hair when need be.

But still there are some who believe in the fairly common assumption that neck tattoos are only placed on convicts, delinquents, outlaws, criminals, bullies, gang members, thugs and other dangerous or unsavory types.

♣ Kat Von D ♣

“Katherine von Drachenberg was born on March 8, 1982 in Monterey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
She was just 14 when she got her first tattoo, an old English “J” on her ankle. It wasn’t long before Kat realized her natural artistic ability and picked up a tattoo machine herself. Her first effort was a Misfits skull.
Kat began working at Sin City Tattoo, her first professional shop, in 1998. Throughout the next few years she moved around to several other shops, gaining experience and perfecting her art, before finally settling at True Tattoo in Los Angeles. That is where Kat can be found today, working alongside her husband (now ex-husband) and fellow tattoo artist Oliver Peck.
In addition to her love for the art of tattooing, she is also a fan of Beethoven, and has several tattoos dedicated to or inspired by him.
Kat resides in Los Angeles and has opened up her own tattoo shop which is featured in the new series, “LA Ink.”

I like in Kat Von D absolutely everything! I think she is really an amazing person! She’s not afraid to be herself! And her tattoos are fantastic! But the thing i love about Kat the most is that she uses her fame( in good meaning of this word) in order to help people who really need help (homeless, sick etc) She helps people for absolutely no reason other than to help! She’s great, i mean all that she does is fascinating!

Not long ago (in december, as far as i remember) Kat Von D setted World Record! For 24 hours she tattooed 400 people!!! Unbelievable! She was awake for 24 hours…it’s hard enough to stay awake, completely sober, with a camera in your face and try and make everyones tattoo experience a positive one.

The idea of Kat was not only to set the World Record, but also to bring people together, all for good cause/reason….

The tattoos cost 20 $, and every 20 saved about 10 000 kids from going blind..isn’t she SAINT??

Kat Von D wasn’t trying to gain from this financially and there was no level of fame she was trying to achieve, it was all about trying to help another human!

♥ Alyssa Milano ♥

If you were a fan of “Charmed” series as me, then you probably noticed Alyssa Milano’s tattoo. For those of  you who don’t know what i’m talking writing about, i will explain in brief.

Charmed is the story of the three Halliwell sisters, Prue, Piper and Phoebe (after death of Prue, Piper and Phoebe will find that they have another sister-Paige), discovering that they are the world’s most powerful good witches, The Charmed Ones; each gifted with innate magical powers they must collectively use to defend the “innocents” of San Francisco from demons, warlocks and other evil beings.

The charachter of Alyssa Milano is Phoebe Halliwell, not the strongest witch, but still my favourite)) The idea of doing a tattoo came to me when i saw Alyssa Milanos’ tattoos in Charmed…i just loved them(maybe because i really adore Alyssa?), but after that i realised that i really, really want a tattoo)

Here are her tattoos:

¿ Removal process….are you sure you still want a tattoo?

As the popularity of tattoos grows, so is the rising need for tattoo removal. Often because of bad tattoo decisions, or they want to remove the name of boyfriend or girlfriend with whom they recently broken up with. Still others say it’s because of the bad economy that people wanted to depart from their visible tattoos to keep them from getting a job, and some plain because they made a careless decision.

The result, more people are turning to tattoo removal clinics. However it’s not so easy getting a tattoo removed. The procedure is a very painful, even more painful than getting the actual tattoo.

Unfortunetely, i don’t know any removal clinics in Almaty, so i guess if you want to remove your tattoo, you have to go to another city or even country. It’s very expensive as well. And oftentimes, the whole tattoo design isn’t completely gone. You will still see a faint mark left by tattoo ink in your skin, even after spending all that time, money and pain to make it go away. So if don’t want to end up with an agonizing procedure and an empty wallet, make sure you are 120% sure you wanted that tattoo design in the first place and get it done right with a professional artist and high quality tattoo inks and tattoo supplies.

Taking Care Of a Tattoo

It finally happened-you get your tattoo, so what’s next? Next step in getting a tattoo is — taking care of the tattoo properly. Maybe it’s not the most intresting part, but after all the most important!Make sure you follow all of the instructions the studio/ tattoo master gives you for caring for your tattoo until it fully heals. If you see or feel pain, spreading redness, swelling, or drainage of pus…OMG! these are signs of infection! Immediately call your doctor or go to the hospital!

Here are some instructions that my tattoo master gave me, i guess they’re appropriate for all:

  • Before cleaning your tattoo, wash hands thoroughly with antibacterial soap and water.
  • Before bed, carefully remove the bandage.
  • Use an antibacterial soap and water, gently rub the area to remove all residue and dried up blood. DO NOT scrub the tattoo!! Rinse and PAT (do not rub) dry with a clean towel or cloth.
  • Apply fresh bandage.  Continue cleaning tattoo and applying a fresh bandage twice a day for two days.
  • Then, switch to a mild, unscented hand lotion. Apply lotion 2 times a day. Be careful not to accidentally rub off any dry skin when applying lotion.
  • Healing time differs but is usually between 7-14 days. The tattoo will flake and peel much like a sunburn while it heals. This is normal. Do not pick the tattoo!! Some people find that after the flakes have fallen off, an opaque film may be left that hides some of the color in your tattoo. This film is the new skin growing over the tattoo and it should clear up in a few weeks.
  • While your tattoo is healing it is highly recommended to wear loose fitting clothing as to not damage the tattoo.
  • Showers are ok, but for two weeks, avoid direct sun exposure, swimming, soaking in a tub, sauna or steam bath.
  • After the tattoo is completely healed; when out in the sun, always put a SPF 30 to 50 sun block over the tattoo to keep colors bright and to prolong the life of your tattoo.
  • Itching is to be expected while healing, DO NOT SCRATCH OR PICK THE TATTOO!

What a Procedure Looks Like

Here’s what you can expect from a normal tattooing procedure:

  • The tattoo artist will first wash his or her hands with a germicidal soap.
  • The to-be-tattooed area on your body will be cleaned and disinfected.
  • The tattoo artist will put on clean, fresh gloves (and possibly a surgical mask).
  • The tattoo artist will explain the sterilization procedure to you and open up the single-use, sterilized equipment (such as needles, etc.).
  • Using the tattoo machine (with a sterile, single-use needle attached), the tattoo artist will begin drawing an outline of the tattoo under your skin.
  • The outline will be cleaned with antiseptic soap and water.
  • Sterile, thicker needles will be installed on the tattoo machine, and the tattoo artist will start shading the design.
  • After cleaning the area again, color will be injected.
  • Any blood will be removed by a sterile, disposable cloth or towel.
  • When finished, the area, now sporting a finished tattoo, will be cleaned once again and a bandage will be applied.
